AEM EMS ? I don't quite understand. :(
What is the benefits of having an AEM EMS or any other stand alone EMS for that matter if say you're going to be tuned on Crome? Is it just for more of a variety when tuning ? Is it even necessary / worth it ?
Tried to search up on why an EMS would be good but nothing came up.
Still a noob with this computer programmable stuff
Thanks in advance

Re: (HTNoob)
You guys make it sound like basic knowledge so please enlighten me.
Instead of beating around the bush and being hypocrites about how many posts I have when you are making pointless posts yourself

Crome/neptune/hondata:
Pros:
Uses stock ECU
Cheaper (new)
Easier to tune (for the most part)
Has self-Diagnostic
Cons:
Not configurable (distributor-less, pick-up sensors, etc)
Limited to stock hardware
AEM:
Pros:
Plug and play!
Very configurable!
Has base maps for most motors
Cons:
Cost (new)
Stiffer learning curve for the software
No self-Diagnostic (check engine light codes)

Re: (Turbogixxer)
Crome and an AEM EMS are both engine management systems (or technically a ROM editor in the case of Crome). You have to pick one or the other. Turbogixxer gives some good basic info to start from, try searching the boards a little more. It's confusing at first, but all the information is out there.

* Aem EMS, Motec: These systems are standalone systems which operate on their own ecu. They have a lot more features then a system based on a factory ecu.
* There are a lot more systems on the market but these are the most popular.
~ So which system should you run?
I always recommend you choose a system which your tuner recommends for your application & needs. </TD></TR></TABLE>
