adseguy's built LS 403whp 334trq *vid*
It's been done for a while I was just waiting to finish up the video. It's been 98% done for the last 2 months I just wanted a couple more shots in, but bad weather is coming so I said screw it. All positive and negative comments are appreciated.
Anyway the video really explains it all:
93 octane pump gas @ 26PSI.
Built and tuned by me
Breaking loose Drag radials at 65mph is fun
http://web.umr.edu/~amsrh7/adseguy_built.mpg (41.8MB ~3mins long)
edit: MPEG1 version available now!

Nice vid where did you dyno at? I hope to be around the 440-470 range this year with a similar setup. I just have a lesser tubular log mani and an Sc60. Head are close also, I have the 404 cams, and crower valvetrain with a victor x mani.

lmao that just sounded scary/creepy
unless im underistimating that t3/t04e, it took 26 pounds of boost to hit 400 whp? So that turbo was pretty close to maxed out and it just made the 400 mark?
most of the setups ive seen in the ls turbo thread, 90% of people are making around the 300 whp range with that same turbo at around 15psi. Most of their setups are bone stock as well besides the fuel/igntion, the internals were stock.
So i dunno, not putting your setup down at all, was just wondering.
but anyway nice build. Even better video, patience pays off
I wish i could make a video for my build but dont have those kind of skills (need a video camera for starters too lmao)
for the codac **** you guys are talking about. Right when mine downloaded it automatically opened it with real player if that helps? Usually i use windows media player to watch videos on this thread. But the hollywood movies i use VLC media player

damn it. It works on some computers. I use VLC media player (plays everything)

I can re-encode it with another codec, but I always have a tough time choosing.

Re: (adseguy)
Yea I just windows media player for most things. Usually I've found that using .avi, .wmv, or mpeg-1 (think it is) gives the widest range of use. Oh well. Sounds like a good video so haha
EDIT: I just tried using Real Player like the dude above said. It still said I needed an mpeg-2 decoder software. Oh well, I don't see enough videos to justify buying the software haha.

That is just what happens with the Ls motor. The head start to become ineffient as power goes up. Ls motors tend to take about 10 percent away from the efficiency of the turbo. That turbo can support what, like 450whp its rated at so maxed at 400 on an ls is about right. Also what you say about the 300 on 15 psi is also correct. I believe he made 340 on 16psi.

Re: (SOHCD16y8)
yea thats true. Forgot that the LS head in general is not the greatest flowing head, which results in lack of top end. His head is also stock besides the cams (same ones i have actually).
Say he had the works (valves, springs, retainers, along with the 402's) would he (anyone for that matter) see bigger hp numbers on top end with that amount of boost? I'm talking like 30-50+ hp gains? Along with say if he had some port and valve work done?
I also like that he beat that 11 second vr4 lmao. I used to like those cars because "they look cool" but on the inside, they are pigs. I'm pretty sure his ls motor was putting out more power than that vr4 and weighs a hell of a lot less too
For that 300 whp range. I meant most of the setups ive seen in that ls turbo thread were BARELY making 300 hp at around 12-16 psi. Most of them were using the t3/t04e (with vairous compressor and housing sizes) and the 60-1. 360 hp at 16 pounds for a t3t4e sounds pretty damn good to me.

A good prt job would free it up a lot. Look at guys like 19secbeast and turbo-ls who are making well over 600whp on ls motor. There is also the P8r head which has bigger valves and ports that will make more power. Also an aftermarket intake mani would help out a lot. There are cams out there too that will make more power such as the crower 404. Overall a combination of more head will give significant results.

Re: (Bjorn20)
I was making 328whp at around 17psi on my stock internals.
It took 26psi because of the stock head and more importantly IMO the IM. A port and polish has to be pretty severe on these heads to do much. I also have crushed my Downpipe due to bumps to about a 2.5" so I'm sure that would give another 10whp. Yes the turbo is maxxed out though, and is exactly where I want it.
That VR-4 is actually making around 450-475awhp, but like you said it's a PIG.
I just re-rendered in MPG1 format so everyone can see. I'll post again, once I've uploaded.
and thanks for the compliments guys
