Clutch guys, gear won't go in. (ACTION 2KS)

well, i dunno wtf is wrong with mine, but mine's SNAFU. i had it for 6-8 months. the car is 99 accord and part #'s same as 96-01 preludes.

here are the symptoms: (pedal travel has been extended as far as it can go)

1. gear will NOT go in after i start the car (in neutral)
2. i turn the car off, then the gear goes in (so i have to shift/hold clutch/and start the car everytime)
3. put the gear in 1st, start the car, then if the clutch is released slightly, the car starts to crawl forward (no accelerator pressed)
4. did i tell you it's a bitch to get gears in? even on highway, i have to seriously muscle it in
5. when i get it in, it usually does with painful grind
6. double clutching (rev matching) is mandatory in order to downshift (otherwise it doesn't go in)
7. i can shift without clutch when i up shift (was very difficult before, easier now, but still grinds as it goes in)

SNAFU is all i gotta say. what could be wrong with it? would bleeding the clutch help?

Have you had these problems the whole time you had teh clutch or just recently?

check for leaks on your clutch master & slave cylinders. try bleeding it. check the fork and make sure it is not broken, and try replacing the slave cylinder.

it was pretty difficult to put the gears in from the get-go, but it got REAL bad just recently.

also, i can't remember if they sent me bearings when they shipped it out to me. what would happen if you use their clutch with oem parts? is this even possible?

sounds like a problem with one of the clutch cylinders...

I LOVE my Action 2MD! just for the record... you should probably find out for sure if it has anything to do with your Action clutch before giving them a https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emthdown.gif

actually, that was supposed to be "gear won't go in https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emthdown.gif" with ACTION 2KS in between (). but then again, that's besides the point...

my point is...i have action 2ks...gear doesn't go in and it quite frankly blows...any ideas?

i'll check the cylinders...and bleed the clutch...and see if that helps...

The actual clutch from Action is most likely not your problem it's the parts that move the clutch that have a problem. These clutches are great and designed well, please don't say it's the clutch. As to your problem, I'd agree in checking what the others said first. Bent fork or bleeding

Have you actually checked your tranny oil level?

okay, just talked with my mechanic...he says there's no way in hell that it's related with master/slave cylinder or bleeding the line...

he steps on the clutch, and immediately tells me that since you have good pressure, it can't be cylinders...only reason he can think is "clutch might be fried"...

but i've never done any harsh driving and it's only been 7 months since i got my 2ks...

could it really be the clutch that's fried? in that case, i'll have to get a new clutch...

does action clutch warranty their clutches? http://images.honda-tech.com/set1//smile/emcrook.gif

so make him a deal...have him pull the clutch. if it is bad, and he was right, you pay for the work. if he was wrong, then he puts it back together and finds the problem while hitting himself on the head with a hammer because he is a retard https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

The clutch throwout should be adjustable. You just need to adjust it. All of your symptoms just point to the clutch not disengaging fully.
