ACT XXR6... Anyone using one? Experiences?
I cant afford a twin disc and want to get my car boosted before the year is over. Will this thing do the trick at around 600 whp 350- tq???
I wont be at the track too often... every once in a while. Mostly street and drag radials around 450-500whp
Ive had good success with ACT on past setups but they werent making any power~250 whp. Im interested to hear good or bad about these clutches.

the problem with those style clutches isnt that they are a nightmare to drive.....but that they break everything. ive even seen them trash thrust washers

unsprung deff are more violent and take getting used to.
IMO for a street car. . . should be sprung. I have a sprung 6puck now on my supra and its much better then without for sure

I am running an XTR6 also, it was kinda harsh the first 500 miles but now its just fine and has decend driveability.

Im using the 6 puck extreme, its not too bad on the street IMO. takes some getting used to and I wouldnt wanna drive it in stop/go traffic. it either bites, or doesnt, not much slipping in between. if running stiff motor mounts, it can shake things a bit, especially on downshifts if not rev matching. but I drive mine on the street all the time, Im used to it. I havent had any slippage yet and the pedal feel is firm. its rated at about 400ft/lbs.

My car does the exact same thing, I am running a solid rear mount and solid torque mounts and if I dont rev-match on a down-shift it will clatter real bad, and reverse is horrible..... just have to slip the clutch and not engage it. I drive mine in stop and go traffic and I have found that the best way to get it not to clatter is only give the car like 1500rpm and let the clutch out while letting off the gas.

I have not boosted on this clutch yet but it will see 450-500 on pump and high 600 on race gas.... so time will tell.

i used the act extreme pp and a comp clutch 4puck sprung on 595whp and it hold for a year and half.it outlasted my oil pump.
now on the new motor i used a actmaxx extreme pp and the act 4 puck sprung so for about 40+ dyno pulls,2000 or street miles and 640whp 450ft and still strong

nice, I might give it a try for a low cost clutch. Is the pedal harsh with that pressure plate?

I do this as well, I think I just blip the throttle slightly more than I normally would and it engages fine without much shake. just like any other clutch youll get the feel for it once you drive it a bit. so far I like it fine for the street.

Re: (RTW DC2R)
Yea I am just starting to get use to it at 1300 miles, my last clutch was a CM Stg5 and it was really bad, the only way to get it to not clatter was give it 3k rpm and just let the damn thing out, but it had a lighter than stock feel.
