Race parts are designed to last as long as most race cars...which isnt very long.

I think Earl once posted the difference between the two. Talk to your engine builder, if you trust him/her...let them give you their opinion and make your decision with some proper information.

i havnt seen a difference other than a coating.

im actually using acl race bearings on my mains and regular ones on my rods in my current motor. Its what i had laying around after they sold me the wrong **** and everyone was out of stock of race rod bearings.

IMO its a matter of prefrence, some use OEM, some use ACL

i havent heard anything bad about using oem bearings in a boosted application.

wouldnt you say between a oem bearing and a acl bearing. as long as the tolerances are perfect does it really matter? given the perfect application would it really metter between the 2?

In a nutshell, the race bearing is a harder bearing than the oem Honda or ACL regular use bearings.

Is that going to be good or bad? Longevity and power wise that is.

If you are planning to run a race motor on the edge of detonation constantly, you might want to consider the race bearings. If you are on the street, at any power level, regular ACL's or OEM's work great.

It's a harder bearing, usually ran "looser" with a bit more clearance than the STD ACL's for more lube + less friction.

I plan to make heavy power and am running STD's.

alot of people are pretty much torn between oem bearings and ACL bearings

both of which can make great power matter of prefrence IMO

hmm....honda motors in stock form last forever when properly maintained....

Sticking one size fits all bearings in just seems stupid to me, but whatever.

Almost every motor in the whole world is made with one size fits all.

For the record, they shouldnt be assumed as one size fits all. My ACL Std. bearings were tight for both mains and rods. I had the rods honed lightly enough to not effect the crush, and the motor was align honed as well to get all of my tolerences in spec. But they have been working great ever since then.
