As the title says, what are your GUESSES or anybody calcualted how much copperspray thickens the gasket say 4 good coats? Just curiosity and I know noone has ever posted this before at least for gasket thickness. HMMM? I am thinking my .43" Cometic HP might be about .050" or so now just a GUESS.

I would also guess a couple thousanths at most. You have to remember that the copper spray does get kinda squished out when the head is torqued down, so the spray itself shouldn't add too much thickness to your h/g.

I have never calculated this but I can't imagine it affecting anything more than .001". The spray will just squeeze out or move to lower spots before it will support the cylinder head. 4 good coats of copper spray may be a little excessive.

What's the worst that could happen? I thought about it before and figured yeah since it squishes then it shouldn't add too much due to the malleability of the copper spray.

Maybe if you stop to think about it, the answer would be zero.
Would not the pressure of combustion just blow right thru it? I think it just fills any low spots.

??????? What are you saying Earl? Are you against copper spray? Combustion blowing through the copper? Zero as in no additional thickness to the gasket?

Im saying it works to fill all the minor indentations, machining marks, scratches, etc but I'm thinking it may not help hold compression at all. I am not 100% sure on this however.
