About to buy a D16 turbo, advice please?
Hi
I'm about to buy a '93 Civic and need some advice, It's a D16Z6 SOHC with 90k miles on it but turbo conversion was only 3 months ago, does this spec sound ok?
I-Boost custom turbo manifold, full 2.5 inch powerflow stainless exhaust inc de cat, Mitubishi EVO 440cc fuel injectors, MR2 turbo fuel pump, alloy dump valve, K&N filter, switchable 2 stage boost, APEXI S-AFC for fuelling adjustment, NGK cold rating plugs, running 9 psi high boost and 3psi low boost. Mitsubishi EVO 2 front mounted alloy intercooler. running approx 191BHP at 7psi
I guess internals are stock, do you think 9psi is safe? and how much life would the engine have?
Petrol from the pumps is 98 RON if that makes any difference

Those numbers are safe if everything is tuned properly. Any way to tell what the air/fuel ratio is doing? Until you find out for sure that the AFC settings are right, I wouldn't boost past about 6 psi. IMO...

Yeah the motor should be ok, does he have a dyno chart? See what the A/F ratio looks like, 191whp sounds high for 7psi, could be BSing you, get it checked out, do a compression test and leakdown test it will tell you what condition the motor is in.
