Default 99 Turbo GSR exhaust question.....

Im building a turbo set up for my 99 GSR and i was wondering what size exhaust i should use.....

Im getting a 3" dp, not using a cat because ND doesn't have emissions laws, and i was thinking of taking the 3" back for a while, reducing to 2.5" and then using the stock 2.25" axle back and muffler to keep a stock appearance.

Is this going to kill my power?? I'm running sub 300whp....i'll post the set up if it makes a big difference.....

Thanks!!

yea that would destroy your power. if you want the stock muffler just get a cutout. there are a bunch that are offered. just search and im sure you will find what your looking for.

the only real reason i'd leave the stock muffler is so that the car isn't amazingly loud and i don't have to build as much of the exhuast.....is the exhaust for a GSR fairly simple??

I was thinking of laying it on the ground and just replicating all the bends and stuff in 2.5"

is 2.5 big enough....because i can get an inline muffler w/ that size....

2.5 is better than stock. 3 inch is the best though. but im sure 2.5 will meet your needs.

yes that would sound like ****. A because it cost 30 dollars. B because its from ebay. and C bc my old friend used to have one and it was garbage. get the 3 inch turbo muffler for 100 bucks from kteller. its like a thermal, but cheaper. and i can see cheap is what you are going for. (btw never show me an ebay link again, they make me mad)

i'm not tryin to go for cheap, but i did a quick search and that's what i found.....i want that style, but i don't want the damn thing to wake the dead! I really don't like the tinny sounding ricer cars so i'm trying to avoid that at all costs...

I think i might look at one of those HKS 71mm Carbon Ti's....they look nice, but are a little spendy....

if your boosted you wont sound like the tin cans. it has a completely different tone. its like air being shot out of a small canister. not the air being drawn out. it will sound good reguardless.

Go with Thermal R&D... I think it's a very stock look. doesn't hang low...Doesn't have a big tip.

Get full 3 inch exhaust, a magnaflow muffler, and biggest resonator you can get. I have that setup and it's very quiet, it also sounds really good.
