99 EX Honda Civic, Turbo Charged, Need sizing advice.
I have a 99 Honda Civic EX and am considering buying a turbo for it, but cannot get a diffinte answer on what size, trim, and all that. I currently have a crower stage 2 cam, crower springs and retainers, head is ported and polished, currently running 9.5 to 1 compression. I do not what to run a whole lot of boost, just enough to have some good fun; go to the track on the weekends. I already understand that there are a multitud of things that I will need to buy to get full potential and to make everything run smooth for a long time. I want the car to be a daily driver running about 6-8lbs of boost. I ahve been told that a t25 turbo is too small, and that it will spool up to fast. I want to be able to do freeway speeds (75 or so, about 3500 rpm) without being in boost. I have also been told that a t3 is too large and that I would be getting into boost late in the rpm band; the turbo would hit hard but for a short period of time. Don't forget, the ex civic has v-tec and I can adjust the shift point + or - 1000 rpm to compensate for where the turbo would kick in. If anyone has some advice I would really appreiciate it. Thank You.
