99 D16 turbo issues, searched
Hello FI forum, I'm an NA guy trying to help a buddy out. So please bear with me. This morning we awoke in anticipation of installing some AEM Tru Power Pulleys in this 99 civic ex coupe(it was something to do and he had them laying around). We get to the shop and install said parts(alternator and PS pulleys). We take it back to his house and let his girl drive it since she's the one who drives it everyday. It drove fine for her and she had a big grin on her face. so we get back in the car and drive back to the shop, I'm driving and I enter the freeway onramp, shift to 3rd and floor it, the car really starts to hit its stride at about 4500 rpm and then as the tach climbs to 5100 it simply cuts fuel and jerks violently, always at 5100 rpm as I continue to try a couple more times to stretch its legs. Note; it is NOT dumping boost. It's a stock d16 with an fmax/turbonetics turbo t3 t4 I believe. intercooler, msd ignition, apex Vafc untuned, crossover set at 4500, new battery. thats all the info I have for now, any help would be appreciated.........................John
