Icon6 97 dx coupe with b20 turbo questions about my 93 gsr head fitting it..and turbo quest

i'm building a new b20 for my 97 dx coupe and was wondering if the b17 head would work with my wiring and if the obd factor mattered being its just the head..i'd continue to use the skunk 2 manifold i have on my integra now...will it work? also for all intensive purposes i might scrap the b17 all together and build the b20 for the tegi and put the single cam back in the coupe n boost that...i already have a y7 built with a y8 intake manifold, 8.5-1 cp pistons and eagle rods with a block guard...my turbo set up would stay in the coupe and push the y7 motor...my current set up is a t3/4 garret and wash pushin 18 psi into the b20 and making 297 whp on a crappy(rich) tune....my question for that is can i run the same set-up/psi on the d16 with the block guard or should i sleeve it? all my setups run a chipped and tuned p28 if that helps...in my dx the vtec plug just hangs because i never used a vtec setup in this car even after long discussions of doing so, i put in a 98 ex vtec harness but still have yet to put vtec to this car...do i b20 vtec turbo or just put the b20 in my tegi and put the single back in my coupe? ps. based on the decision i make the 99 gsr tranny from my coupe will be up for sale...freshly rebuilt with ctr final drive and ls 5th gear...askin 750.00 o.b.o

Crazy that your b20 lasted with that much boost. How long has it been boosted now?\

Single cams run a long hard life and dont blow up (even stock). Your current motor should be fine, but what whp you looking for out of the single cam?

im lookin to get about 225- 250whp from the single...i just know singles are stronger in the lower rpm range so i wanna switch the setup...i also have a bishimoto race cam in the single so its strong in the 3000 t0 9200 rpm range..
i have about 26,000 miles on project b20 t..stock head bearings and connecting rods...do keep in mind the compression was significantly lowered for the boost that i put through it...im building the b20 all motor vtec for my gsr with 11.5-1 compression and ported b17 head new race bearings and eagle rods this time...hopin to get about 9200+rpms out of it. with the bottom end in it and turbo it ran multiple times to 8600...so wish me luck

Lower your static compression ratio does not streghten the walls of the sleeves! Im always amazed at boosted B20s...period! And 26,000 miles is great for a boosted one. My advice would be to get a girdle, have the bottom end checked for being straigth and within the gram spec for each piston, rod (always good to double check). Then have that crank balanced! In mine I have 9:1 Cp, eagles, GSR crank balnced to 10500 (never took it past 8 yet lol). My motor sounds great...but I too am building a High compression...my first H/C setup...always messed with turbos no fast N/a's.

The single should be more than fine for that amount of power. I have my old turbo (18G) on a single slammer and it made 245 horse before boost spiking to hell. So we fixed that but havent retuned. If he made that power you can. He drives daily and boost daily and it is cherry as can be. THE SINGLE CAMS=TORQUE FOR WEEKS

my fault..i thought u were talkin about the motor....they were parked in my driveway right on a quick 90degree curve and a drunk drove straight off the road and into the back of them cuz they were parked side by side..its ok i just bought the same gsr i had(complete roller with interior and harness) im gonna vtec the b20 and put my turbo setup from the civic in the integra and if i can find one an ls cable tranny....i also just got an 91 civic lx 4dr with clean body and mint interior blown motor so im gonna transfer the b17 engine tranny and complete harness over to that car as well as the gsr bucket seats
