Default 97 Civic B18 Swap... ISO Turbo.

I own a 1997 honda civic hatchback.

I ordered a full turbo kit which came with a t3/t4 turbo.

its too big to use it on my manifold and engine block.

sooo...

I am iso a t25, 15 or 16g, or what else?

help me out guys!

I have $154 paypal left to play with.

and i dont want something that needs work done to it.

Im hoping to install the engine in a week or so.

advice would be helpful!

i just missed out on a garett t25 that doesnt need any work for 150...

someone bought it before i did.

sucks.

i might take pictures of the installation if you guys think i should!

thanks.

What? How is it "too big"? Physically? Or too much for your horsepower needs? It's a kit. How is it too big? Doesn't sound like a good kit. Ebay?
$154? You must be taking about an Ebay turbo. Can't help u with that. Don't think anyone could.

And you know you've got the tune, upgraded fuel system, clutch, wideband/gauges and other things to deal with right? Way more than the $154 you have in your pocket.

So why in the hell did you order a kit with a turbo in it you didn't want? Doesn't sound very smart to me. For $154 your only option is Ebay. How much you spent isn't a factor. That you spent it poorly is. Cal the people you ordered your kit from and see if they can work something out.

This definitely needs to be locked. He doesn't understand that almost any "kit" is not a "bolt on affair". He has a LOT to learn.

I stated i have everything i needed other than a smaller turbo.

was it really necessary to talk trash instead of helping me out?

epic fail.

It's because you said you only have 160 to spend so they assume your going ebay turbo and get all in a tiff, it's very lame I agree.

How bad does the current turbo hit? If it just rubs you might be able to use a thicker gasket in between the block and the turbo manni to give it a little more distance.

There's no helping you. You have a built engine and you're looking for a Cheap turbo that you could've run on a stock block. All because you planned **** poorly.

i like how he says hes going to buy the garett for 150 but has only 160 to spend but has not mentioned how hes going to tune it...

kid your attitude is horrible you get on a forum where alot of people buy ebay turbo kits and thats what it sounded like youre doing is buying an ebay turbo kit you mention nothing about a TUNE your clutch all you mentioned was 450CC injectors and a chipped ECU with that your car will run maybe a month and die and than you'll realize oh yeah im the retard not those guys they were trying to help me duh seriously loose the temper

What turbo manifold did you buy that a t3/t4 won't fit on a B18? Thats like the most generic turbo setup of all time..... .63 is a small a/r, completely standard for a basic turbo setup. A 1.12 T4 housing would of been giant.

BTW, what the hell does "three two thousand dollars in parts" mean? If you're saying you have 3k in parts, good for you. I have 3k in my fuel system if you want to start throwing dollar amounts around thinking you're spending serious coin.

I hate it when people flame someone who doesn't know what they're doing or talking about, because we've all been there. There was a point when each of us were 'noobs'. Basically your lack of research lead to buying parts that aren't compatible with each other. You came on here and asked a stupid question then tried to act like you know what you're talking about, when clearly you don't or you wouldn't of had this problem in the first place. I realize you're frustrated, most people on this website are pretty ruthless when it comes to newbies, but you're only going to dig yourself a deeper hole if you try to act like a know it all, when your problem is entirely the fault of your own doing.

He probably needs to notch the wedding on the block if the manifold is one of the designs from the late 90's to '03 range. Pics would have helped but he is obviously too dumb to post something like that.

I bet this guy dosent know what he is doing... A t25 is going to be a waste above like 6K on a gsr... It will actually slow it down...

You might as well get a Generic garrett T3 turbo off a saab for 90 bucks
