if i remember correctly your computer will retard your timing from intake temp. it will also do something else but for some reason i cant remember.

Re: 96+ d16 greddy turbo guys, got a question? (98civicEX)
many many ppl kept their sensor hanging around, no problem at all
http://www.turbocivic.net steve, he has done somethng different
he made a little hole in the housing where it connects the air filter to the pipe, then he stuck the sensor in
i don't think it will make a difference, but coz after the air going into the turbo, then into the charge pipe, the TEMP is totally different, so maybe steve's is not a good one?? or does it matter?

Just hanging around. I thought about sizing a grommet for it and putting it in the filter pipe, but I was nervous about the grommet getting sucked in.

I jsut drilled a hole in the intake piping where the sensor was stock, and used a piece of rubber hose around it to securley wedge it into the piping. No grommet, too easy to fall off or get sucked in.
