94 AWD Mirage, 622whp, 567tq, 93 octane, alcohol injection...
this car belongs to a very good friend of mine and was tuned by brad brooks (another good friend.) here in tampa at brotherz racing.
the car itself has been around for a few years...and is probably the sickest import in the united states...since it retains air conditioning, 100% driveability (i've driven it), is quiet, has soft suspension and a 3,000 dollar tilton triple ceramic clutch.
i'm posting this, since the car will be featured in sport compact car sometime within the next few months...and deserves all of the attention it receives.
jerry built the entire car, has played with many different setups and finally settled on a 2.3 7bolt stroker with balance shafts.
here are a few pics...including a pic of the dyno graph.

his comments on the new setup...

Picking up where we left off. Every click on the boost controller netted nice gains. At 34psi she laid down 597whp/517tq. This is with boost increased at higher rpms to limit the torque a little. Not wanting to stop 3hp shy of 600 we set the boost to 35. Problem with this is the 3.5 bar map only reads to 35psi. So if the boost goes over 35psi the boost controller doesn't try to compensate because it still thinks we are at 35psi. So for an unknown boost level she layed down a very pretty 622whp/567tq. no knock. This is on 93 octane and alkycontrol meth injection.
here is a rundown on the setup:
shelf stock JE 8.5-1 stroker pistons
eagle rods
factory mitsu 100mm crank, nitrided
7 bolt block with balance shafts for smoothness.
7 bolt head with intake ports widened to match 1g port width.
cyclone dual runner intake epoxy filled to reduce port height to match 7bolt
crower 414 cams
880cc injectors
evo8 valves, evo8 springs and retainers
mild street port by jerry
2g manifold with adapter to mount GT35RLS
tial 38mm gate
3 inch exhaust with quiet magnaflow muffler
best hp on old setup was 567/511. it was sick fast at that level.

That's the SICKEST import in the US?
Come on now.
Nice power, but that's quite the claim to make.

damn that is badass
I'm shocked that it just has a factory 2g manifold and ?stock? intake manifold? that's nuts...

i don't know of any import that can run high 9's on street tires with air conditioning utilizing 93 octane.
there may be a few, but i doubt they are as easy to drive...so easy that they could be daily driven and 100% reliable.

crankwalk happens from low oil pressure, heavy pressure plates**** and holding the clutch in when starting the vehicle.
this motor will not see anything like that.

Re: (Lonnie)
it went 10.2's last time out...with no cage.
the problem is that he was banned from running there...until he installed a cage.
since, he's added a 4pt cage which should allow for more passes without being asked to leave.
the car (with 550-575whp) was capable fo running 9's...and held with 9 sec street bikes...its just a matter of getting the timeslip this time around.
in any case, the car has gone 10.2's several times...so change what i said to low 10's...and i still think its just as impressive.

Re: (chet)
That's the type of cars I like. Totally drivable, on pump gas, and still can rape almost anything out there.
Aside from the color this looks well done.
