I want to turbo my ej1 soon and don't want to hack up the support. My goal is ~350whp so I would like a decent sized I/C to get me there.

hack up the bumper support or the core support? alot of the big HP intercoolers cannot be used with the bumper supports.
The small full-race backdoor I/C requires some but not alot of cutting. there installation manual is on their website.
Some I/C's also just mount onto the bumper support with some slight modifications

Yea, the 8" Precision will pretty much be flush with the bottom of the radiator support without any cutting.

Why not? If you've ever taken the support off before you would realize its not doing much. I thought they actually weighed more than they do. I just took mine off to make it easier to mount the ic.

We must be talking about two different kind of supports here. The bumper support should not harm the cars handleing at all. If weighs 10lbs if that.

Re: (Ludman95)
Maybe I confused him with my post. What I meant is if you mount the 8" IC so the top is directly under the bumper support, the bottom of the IC will be just about flush with the bottom of the radiator support. It would work without cutting.

a 10lb brace could add a massive, and very perceivable, amount of stiffness to a chassis. Dont try and discount it without some better information

The one in the CRX is much beefier than that of the 92-95, which is just a c-shaped bar. The 92-95 core support is also much thicker than a 88-91, which can be flexed by your hand. The 92-95 core support adds more stiffness than its bumper support. Regardless I don't know what you're talking about, 2/3 of my ef's support was removed for the fmic and handling was not changed.
BTW I'd say the EF suppport w/cover is 12-15lbs, and the EG support 5-7lbs w/cover. I'd be the inverse is true for core supports, the EG core weighing at least 2x that of the EF's core. All you need to do is add some angle iron above the support, and you're back to 100% strength or more.
