Default 85mm DART block, HG suggestions...O-Ring? Stepped? Need input

I'm in the process of building my new setup and I've been researching this issue. I have an 85mm Dart block that I'm using and wanted to know about headgasket sealing advice. I've always used the Golden Eagle HG and mever had a problem, but that walways N/A. Now that I'm going FI, I need to ensure a good seal with this large bore. Can a Dart block be O-Ringed or stepped deck? The car will be in the area of 700whp when it's all together if not possibly more. AFI divided T4 topmount, GT4088R, RLZ head, yada yada yada. I just want to know what I can do to get a GOOD seal on the HG, I don't want to hear about not using 85mm or anything, I know I need to have it right the first time and no room for error, I just want some input. The car is used mainly as a race car as well. Thanks in advance guys!

o-ringing is a waste of time

make sure the block is decked to the proper deck height ( some of them are a hair taller than they should be) and resurface the head and block as they should and use whatever headgasket you want, GE or cometic.. you wont have any problems with either

Alright, I had this in my car already for my all motor setup, so the deck height is right around where it should be, just needs surfaced and the head is fresh as well. I have just heard about people blowing headgaskets, I always have used the GE headgasket coated with copper spray.

not a problem... just make sure, if you havent already done so.. those blocks are nasty from the factory, make sure to take a grinder to em and "fix" it before you put ti back together

i'd personally stay away from o rings and step-decking also..a nice flat surface is what you want

earl (RIP, we miss ya) found some serious problems with step decking (head warpage/bad valve seat/leaking, etc), and i havent had much experience with o-ringing, but i'd stay away from it, from what i've read, mainly for simplicity's sake.
