Default .82 exhaust housing helpful?

The GT30 that I'm using on my H22 civic seems to run out of capacity in the 16-18 lb. range. In the upper rpm range the hp fluctuates from 420 to 440 whp. I was told that going to a larger exhaust housing (from .63 to .82) will allow development of hp in the 500 whp range and take care of the surge like spikes. Does this seem reasonable?

Which GT30 are you running?
Can you post your dyno?

People have made 500whp on smaller engines (B18) with 3076's .63 so its possible but I def would have done with the .82 for an H22.

The GT30 was installed by a local dyno shop. I'll check the setup when I pull it.
