81.5 over bore...what pistons????
i got a block that was over bored to 81.5mm...do i still need to run low comp pistons? im thinking to just go ahead and get the low comp since i have to buy new ones anyway. just looking for any experiences and anything to look out for. btw, running eagle rods and ARP hardware on a stock head with Greddy kit. pretty noob-tastic with turbo set ups but been reading alot on the forum

What are your power goals? If you're continuing to run that Greddy kit, you really won't need a built bottom end. You can build it for added reliability or in case you decide to upgrade your setup in the future...otherwise, i would get a set of Nippon 81.5mm cast pistons with OEM rods and save a little $$

Re: 81.5 over bore...what pistons????
appreciate the advise. i got the whole GSR motor, turbo kit, parts, all kinds of extras when i got the car that already had stock B18C in it...so im building the extra one.
he also gave me a set of hi comp arias pistons that are 81mm ill probably use for an NA build later on.
imma end up going with some lo comp forged for the added reliability.

Re: 81.5 over bore...what pistons????
Ive got 81.5mm Wisecos in the 10:1 CR flavor
no problems yet, car makes great power imo on low boost 293 @ 8lbs 92 octane
I dont have a very high hp goal, probably 400whp at most on E85
If i were to build a car that was going to be 800whp id probably run something in the 9:1area, but as my car sits right now, im very satisfied with this setup.
I dont see any issues boosting with this compression as its stock gsr cr
