800 WHP B series EG Hatch build
Hi to the Honda Tech community.
I’m not a young guy Lol, 46 at the moment 🥸. I have been into the Honda game since 2001. Yes, I felt in love with Honda since F&F 1, yeah I ain’t a shame of said that 🤭. I destroyed my last car back in 2021 while I was racing at Palm Beach International Raceway in Florida. Car hit the wall probably at 100 mph. It was a nice and clean EG Hatchback 😣. I sold the shell and bought another one. I started adding some safety stuff as roll cage (I didn’t have one in my other car). So here is my build thread. Open to suggestions 🫡 Car gonna be taken to track just to check times. I building the car mostly to sit on a chair and contemplate it Lol. A few pictures, I don’t want to post pictures of everything I got. That’s probably annoying 😬

Re: 800 WHP B series EG Hatch build
Looks like a fun build! The Faceplated gears are nice, but anything over 600whp really needs a stronger set of gears. My set of treated gears didn’t last long at all, I broke gears 4 different times under 700hp. At 800hp I would definitely look into some strong gears

I hope those face plated gear set holds at least a few track days while I’m testing the car. Other than that it gonna be at 600-650 the most of the time. After my accident wife doesn’t want me to race again, so you might know what I mean. I told her I’ll be at track just a couple times to set the car up.

Re: 800 WHP B series EG Hatch build
If the car is caged, and you're wearing a helmet with a proper seat and harness then you're most likely safer at the track than you are on a public highway in a commuter car honestly.

Yup, You’re right. I’m trying to explain that to wife 🥴
Brian from VTEC Academy went sideways at almost 200MPH and flipped his car I think like 10 times, at one point you see the entire engine just yeet itself about 15 feet up into the air out of the bay. He didn't even lose consciousness, and made a very quick and full recovery. No lasting injuries of any sort, if I remember right not even broken bones. There's another video out there where they document this in more detail including commentary from Brian. He had full cage + helmet + certified seats with head/side bolstering, etc. Goes to show the importance of safety equipment. Mini-Documentary of the crash: |
Re: 800 WHP B series EG Hatch build
I went today to Treadstone headquarters in Miami, Fl to pick up my TR-1245 (1000hp) intercooler. Core size 22x12.5x4.5. Treadstone’s crew are awesome!!

Re: 800 WHP B series EG Hatch build

Re: 800 WHP B series EG Hatch build
Guys! What size spacer do you recommend to run in my SK2 Ultra Race IM?? 1LT or 2 LT? 🤔 I’m planning to stay around 800WHP (limited for the transmission).
I’ll be running a 74-76mm TB instead the 90mm, I think 90mm is overkill for now. I have trying to find info about the spacer but I didn’t find anything. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/honda-t...f2c7552dc.jpeg |
Re: 800 WHP B series EG Hatch build
I went with the 2LT spacer so actual volume of the Ultra Race is 5.5 LTS. After reading and reading about the throttle I decided to go with the 90mm Ross Machine Racing. I’ll running a BBK Mustang 5.0 TPS and thinking to go with a AEM 5 bar map sensor attached to back ports of the Ultra Race.
I own a small powder coat business so I’ll be doing a lot of powder and cerakote works on the car. I already did the valve cover. I’ll be doing the IM soon. Re: 800 WHP B series EG Hatch build
Powerdercoated valve cover looks very nice, and the throttle body looks like a nice piece as well. Not familiar with Ross Machine Racing.

GSR head came back from Melvin’s ports. Ported job looks awesome! I keep moving forward with the build through these hard days we’re living in 🇺🇸 (inflation).

Re: 800 WHP B series EG Hatch build
I don’t know if someone cares but here is an update to my thread. More parts for the build 😅
Blox Racing Race Coil Overs https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/honda-t...bf7d7c2c5.jpeg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/honda-t...c35e1fc4f.jpeg Odyssey Fab Race weight bar. It weighs 40 pounds empty and can be filled up to 140 pounds. Treadstone TR-1245 1000hp intercooler seats perfect on it. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/honda-t...241bb3dcf.jpeg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/honda-t...4bbe708e8.jpeg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/honda-t...061270214.jpeg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/honda-t...50e2e5b9f.jpeg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/honda-t...db8180b1a.jpeg |

Re: 800 WHP B series EG Hatch build
Can confirm, we do care!
I don't post often but am following the build! My own build has been on hold a solid 2 years, finally just towed it off to a shop to at least get some progress made on it. I completely get it man. Also please post pics of the IM when it's done in powder. I tried to have mine done and the shop said they couldn't but I don't recall exactly why. |

Re: 800 WHP B series EG Hatch build
Setup is coming together nice!! As much as I hate knock off turbos I have to admit Pulsars seem to be holding up for cheaper brand turbos.
