650whp Integra half mile in car video
Build link below. 650whp on 17" starspec dunlops, BBG although didn't have it dialed in at best on this run. Ended the day with 170.9 half mile standing start

1/4mile Never did expose the core competency of these engines using efficient turbochargers in their upper rpm band.
I think it's great for the sport...especially considering all the nonsense sanctioned import drag racing is facing right now..
You get the thrill of highway acceleration rates without the tickets or additional risk.

This video was 166 I think. Just like 1/4 drag it's super addictive and hard as heck to go 5 mph faster haha. The 171 run hooked pretty dang good especially for a chalky concrete runway. This was a GOFAST event and tech was very minimal. I really shouldn't have done this without a cage. It's really fun getting to let it stretch, I recommend anyone trying at least once.

No. You can easily reach those speeds on the Autostraus and Autobahn in many of these cars that are used in these events.. Public roads, at higher speeds. Anyone can drive on either motorway
Funny enough, most of these cars are still within NHSTA guidelines , as they are global vehicles.
For example, a simple Ford Focus ST can reach 155mph on the Autobahn, (there are videos to show this), is a global car, and NHSTA approved. In addition, because of the way the events are structured, it's not necessary.

Lexan air damns also added in the bumper inlet. Hood vent also will help with aero pulling air out vs having it lift the car

You need something below that bumper inlet, a flat deck underneath that bumper for downforce windage, possibly canards, and something to keep that rear deck down.(i.e. A real diffuser, "whale tail" style deck wing, etc.).
Check some cues from Myles (gringotegra) to get a better idea of what I mean..
