6500 rpm limit on boosted prelude
i just got some kinks worked out on my 97 prelude i cant rev past 6500 it acts like a rev limiter, my rev limiter wasnt until like7600 before , i dont think that its fuel or boost cut, i got a missing link so the check engine light is not on and the ecu is not in safe mode, i would appreciate any help

Re: (H22EG6RUS)
lol, let your engine warm up first.. don't try to hit rev limiter when your engine is cold. The bb6 has a cold engine rev limiter and a warm engine rev limiter.. if your engine isn't warm enough it, it won't let you rev pass 65-66 hundred RPMs. and you will not hit vtec.. Once your engine is warmed up then your rev limiter is at aorund 76-78 hundred RPM... you can't hit boost cut unless you get a JS safe guard, you are hitting fuel cut... and it's really bad.... don't be so hard on the engine... you don't need to redline your car with boost.. i lose power at around 6900rpms. that is where i make most of my power so i shift at around 6800 6900

Re: 6500 rpm limit on boosted prelude (Turbo E)
well i feel like a complete retard, but i figured out what it was, when we took the oil pressure sending unit out to get oil for the turbo feed line and the oil pressure guage we didnt plug the factory one back in to the ecu is getting no oil pressure signal so no vtec thanks for all your ideas though

Re: 6500 rpm limit on boosted prelude (blackssvtex)
You used the sender for the oil light? or the Vtec pressure switch?
The pressure sender is only used to light up the dummy light.

as far as i know they are both one and the same, its a unit that screws onto the back of the block with a couple wires going into it
