Default .65 spring too high for stock LS motor?

I got a good deal on a Tial 35mm. It has a .65 bar spring. When buying it, it sounded about right. But after doing the straight conversion from bar/psi - it was about 9.5 psi. That's higher than I wanted to boost without a standalone. I'm going to use the SAFC/FMU.

So I guess my real question is. Do boost controllers close the spring, open the spring or what? I originally wasn't planning on getting a boost controller. I'll need to set it to ~6.5/7psi and keep it there. Or should I just buy another spring and put that inside the wastegate?

From what I think I recall, boost controllers can only up the boost past whatever the spring's set. Help me out here.

If you dont want to buy a boost controller yet because you dont have money then just replace the spring. I always thought that an EBC could controll any amount of boost, but I might be wrong. Evan

Nope. Boost controller, wheather manual or electronic, will only allow you to raise the boost.
The 65 bar spring is probably too much boost if your running stock injectors. I would still buy it, then buy a 45 spring and keep the .65 for a later date when you start doing your upgrades.

Alright -great. I thought I was correct about that - seems logical too. Anybody selling a .45 spring for a 35mm Tial?
