600+hp guys, How high are you Revving?
Trying to see how high you guys are revving your cars out to-- Do you guys worry about the weight of the rod+piston (i.e. manley's vs. Crowers)? Or just rev it to the ***** ****** moon and hope that bitch don't come apart at the top ?

Most of the cars that ive seen are between 9-10k, if its a track car and making full use of the power you have to run 4th gear out pretty far to avoid shifting to 5th. Of course the tranny will have an effect on this.
9-10k

Stock oil pump on the B16A, it had a good 35,000 miles on it and it actually broke the last time I went to the track with that set up. Valvesprings and retainers on all these set ups are REV

Anyone rocking girdles, dampners etc. I guess I'm just looking to see what it takes to successfully run 9.5k+ repeatedly w/out problems so what do you guys suggest?
Setup so far:
Crowers on CP's (83mm)
LS/vtec
Supertech V/springs/retainers
Benson'd.

A fluidampr or ATI is definitely a nice addition. Most of the big power cars are using them at this point. Its a nice piece of mind when revving the **** out of your car on a stock pump. The factory girdle on the GSR?ITR motors seems to work just fine as well. But again, if you have the money the ERL girdle is a nice piece.

what is the technical significance of the girdle? Just to helo stabilize the crank at high rpms? I relize the b16a does not have one, is this b/c of the good rod/stroke ratio? Also when revving to 10k + does the stock oil pump struggle? i have a buddy of mine who has spun several rod bearings revving to 10k on a stock stroke 81mm b16a any ideas?

Re: 600+hp guys, How high are you Revving? (integranator)
i was in the ball park of 580-600 @ 26-27psi
I revved to 8500 w/ stock B16A cams.
Pauter rods in a 84mm LSvtec
At 10psi WHP was almost flat from 5,500 to 8,500. 320whp to 370whp. But like i said, that was w/ b16a cams, others like the ITR/CTR's would have wanted to make power to 9,500-10,500 range.

on 23 psi making 600 my car has to go to 9500 just to keep from shifting to 5th and it was trapping about 140. 24.5 x 7 slicks. its now on 25 x 9 so hopefully it helps...slick size will change how high you have to rev
