Re: 500Whp goal for Accord CB7
I have see a comp test video and I'm confused...
In the video the max comp (240psi on a N/A H22) is mesure after a little crank turn (3 sec)
For my motor my gauge grow up very slowly and I need to crank it during 10-15 sec for mesure the maximum Psi.
Is it normal ?
Thx

Re: 500Whp goal for Accord CB7
Thx for your answer, 150psi is the right result for 8.5:1 piston, it too long but it is the time needed for take my max comp-->150
I stop cranking when the gauge stop move up.
It is why I'm asking if is it normal, because when I see other compr test video the gauge move very fast. I'm a bit worried about that !
If My rings failed, the compression will not climb until 150 right ?
How the time of the test influence the result ?

Maybe something wrong with your gauge??? It does climb very slow and that is odd. I have never seen one climb that slow. Weird! But if it is running good and not smoking or loosing oil then I wouldn't worry too much about it right now. Try another compression tester when you get a chance.

Re: 500Whp goal for Accord CB7
My gauge is Ok, I have try with another H22.
My motor don't smoke at all but in limp mode because my Vtec isn't wirred yet.
If I had not paid attention to this detail, I will have turned the crank for a few seconds and I had low results...

Nice car Rykou. I really like that body style of the Accord coupes.
Have you had anyone follow you while driving to make sure you aren't smoking out of the exhaust?
I had a friend that had a similar experience to yours. He installed a couple of the piston rings upside down.
