alright guys i know u probly heard this 1000 times but here it is again sorry. will my stock sleeves stock bore with a block gaurd carry 450whp?
|
Re: 450wp
Stock sleeve with piston and rod will do 450whp on pump gas all day everyday
|
Re: 450wp
around what whp ware sleeves absolutly nessisary?
|
Re: 450wp
yes, you will be fine ...throw some forged pistons and rods in that badboy and get a good tune
id say anything over 500whp is pushing it imo |

Re: 450wp
but what sized pistons do you have?most people that build there block bore it alittle bit over just to make sure all cylinders are perfect...so stock gsr is 81mm bore it to 81.5mm

really? 450whp on stock sleeve?not saying its not possible but not likely to hold out ..i cracked 2 blocks 1 went @315whp the other @390whp am sleeving my next block just to be safe... and on pump fuel? every country has a different grade of fuel as pump fuel..we get 89 some ppl get 93 lucky ppl get 100ron so it depends on where u live.. |
Re: 450wp
I have been running a stock sleeved/stock internals gsr for a while now @24psi on E85 wich yeilded 498/322
yes it will do the power and hold it man, but you better have a good tuner |

well i got the block off this one guy who threw a rod and ate up the cyclinder, so hey got it resleeved with brand new ones(if it were me i would have went with some darton sleeves but he went with standard) so they are brand new cylinders
1. i assume this is a b-series 2. blcokguard is not needed 3. what do you mean by standard? did he use aftermarket sleeves, can you even get replacement oem sleeves? any pics? what turbo are you running? a small turbo at high psi could create more cylinder pressure making 450whp less safe on stock sleeves. bigger turbo and lower boost would help to reduce pressure on the sleeves. to the guy that "cracked two blocks" what exactly happened? 315whp should be completely safe on all stock internals, sounds like a tuning problem to me. |

Re: 450wp
ive been running a stock sleeved b16 with mahle pistons, eagle rods and arp main studs and head studs, for 2yrs no problems. over a 100 runs on the dyno and just as many down the track. still makes 466hp and 313tq and runs mid 10's at 135mph. its all in the TUNE.....

Re: 450wp
im sure you will be fine, crank the boost and have fun
|
Re: 450wp
thanks guys for the help

Re: 450wp
If they are Darton ductile iron replacement liners (still have alum water jacket around them), they will take quite a bit more than stock. Not exactly 100psi of boost, but more than the stock sleeves, which are brittle grey cast iron. I agree full sleeves would have been a better deal, but there can be more issues associated with them.
The main problems are tuning. An error in timing or fueling will result in damage no matter what components you use. Make sure you have good, clean parts throughout the fuel system, run a good EMS, and get someone with a stellar track record for tuning Hondas. |
