450-550whp street cars...Tires?
For those of you that have 450-550whp, Im curious to what kind of tires you are running? Dimensions? Im not so sure id want to drive around on slicks, but this wouldnt be my daily driver anyways. What would you reccomend? Ill be using a b18c transmission with a quaife lsd, motor mounts and eventually traction bars. Thanks

It depends on the size of your rims, If you have 16" like me they discontinued all the drag radials for that size, and you'll want to kill them. So now I have azenis (no complaints yet) although I would have loved to have some drag radials.
If you have 15" then you have many choices, BFG seem to be popular among the honda-tech'ers and the Nitto's are good as well. The Nitto's will last a little longer compared to the BFG's due to the harder compound, but won't grip AS well, but they still hold.

i have 15in rims (Si's) when i run on the street at around 325whp. When i had the flaken ziex's or some **** like that 1st and 2nd would break lose when it hit full boost (14psi) Now i have BFG drag radials up front, 1st will still spin but now second grips good. Anything over 450whp will rip any street tire in 1st and 2nd. That much power on street tires is only good for the highway.

I used the 205's first, but I'm going with 225's next time around.

How are you guys r unning such wide tires? I am wondering what size to get for my 6th gen hatch...I was thinking 215's is the widest I could go if the car is lowered a little....

225's will fit.
They will rub around turns on the inside of wheel well.
But that's no big deal

Is that if you turn to the bumpstops? If so, I think I will be getting 225's.

Going to try out the new BFG gforce drag radials in a 225 whenever they get come off the backorder list. I'm using nitto 555r drag radials right now and still rip them loose in 1-3 with only 277whp.

Re: 450-550whp street cars...Tires? (blufke)
The general rule of thump is at least 80-85% of the tire must have wheel under it.
Convert wheel width to millimeters and then divide by the tire width.
