400 hp civic axles
i've been looking all over the internet for some axles for my eg. i am building a 400 hp honda civic (d series). does anyone know where i can get axles that will support this much power? i know the stock wouldn't handle this much power. i've encountered a few brands but they were outrageous expensive. i want some with an affordable price.

I forgot to mention. Or you can go with some stock ones from autozone/oreilly's/ect. They come with lifetime warrenty, so you can always just go get new ones when they break. Thats if you don't mind changing them, which once you do over and over it only becomes a 20 min job.

I just bought stage II axles from "The Driveshaft Shop". They are good for 400 horse, and cost $699. Havent tested them yet...but they look great!

Re: 400 hp civic axles (kameleon23)
Is there any hope for lifetime warranty axles, I'm scraping together money to finish my build (AEBS GSR 84mm, Crower Billet Rods, Arias 9.2:1) and I dont know if I'm going to have $700 to spend on axles after getting a clutch to hold all this. Anyone have any stock replacment axle success stories?

I'm running near 450 WHP daily on autozone replacements.
But you wouldn't want them, they're a bandwagon, just like PTE turbos.

That's a good alternative, if you have a trailer. Changing the axels is easy, getting the car home when they break can be a problem.

give raxles.com a call. They can custom make pretty much any axle you want. And they don't use old axles to start with. They make them from scratch. I have a set of their "stock replacement" ones. Got them for $300. They're holding up just fine.

I'm on stock axles for now, but only in the 350 whp range. I think I'll run them until they snap, then upgrade...unless I dont have the cash then I'll do the autozone replacements. It really depends on how much you plan on launching your car with slicks. If you're going to run street tires and launch on those, then traction will be at a minimum so you'll have much less of a chance of breaking them. However if you're going to be hard launching on slicks I'd spring for the gators. With stockers, you always get to wonder where the axle will break and what else it may tear up.

I've had problems with axels on street tires, because street tires tend to wheel hop more.

Re: (NotPhilTran)
What ever axles you needed for your swap, I'm not going to take the time to look but I believe for that swap you would use 90-91 Integra axles.

Yes i have horrible wheel hop problems in 1-3rd...but I've got my traction bars in the works now, as soon as I get everything fabbed up for them, hopefully my wheel hop will disappear.
