Default is a 4-2-1 header okay with a JRSC?

i'm getting a jrsc for my b18b and was wondering if the 4-2-1 header will be okay
to run with the SC or should i get a 4-1? i already have the 4-2-1, so should i use it
or sell it and get the 4-1?

It will work fine. Most people go with the Kamikaze header but i know it has some fitment issues and not sure if it comes in your application. Make sure the rest of your exhaust is opened up, maybe even a high flow cat...that will make a diff too.

I've been told that 4-2-1 headers are ideal for superchargers. I dont know quite why, but that is just what I have been told. I also believe the Kamakazie header is 4-2-1 and that works very well with superchargers.

Help that helps.

The Kami and the DC 4-2-1 are the headers to go with on a B18B JRSC. The DC 4-2-1 has shown higher HP #'s than the 4-1.

There has been some debate between the two, but they both work. People swear by the Kami but I've seen a couple cracked, whereas the DC seems to hold up better over time. The dyno charts are within 3 HP of each other that I have seen.

Choose between those two.

Her is the breakdown on headers for a JRSC car. Any of the dc sports headers are a good choice. the 4-2-1 will make good midrange power the 4-1 will make topend power. with that said the jackson has all the midrange in the world so it is best to go with the 4-1 to try to get more power up top. Now with that said there are better headers for the SC application. first the kamikazi is a good header with shitty fitment, I would not buy it for that reason. The best bang for the buck is the DC sports JDM 4-1 header. It has larger primary tubes that the SC likes better. It retails for around $350 It also has a 2.5" collector so you will need a 2.5" test pipe or cat and then your catback system. of course there are better headers out there but you are then getting into the $1000 range and there is no sence in that unless you have sponsors. Also with all these exhaust questions I hope that you are not going to use the LS blower for your car since it is a M45 blower. with small modifications you can install the type-r or Si blower to your car which is the M62 blower and you will make much more WHP email me if you have questions grand6000@aol.com

Good point on the DC 4-1; I am coming at this from a bolt up point of view.

My $.02 on the M62/B18B...
A couple of guys (from Hostboard) have gone the M62 route and have had minimal gains with it. If you have access to the R kit, and can have the manifold modified, rock on - otherwise, if you are bolting the kit on and aren't doing any other work (internals) - the M62 hasn't proven to "make more HP". The Eaton graphs definitely show increased flow on the M62 from the M45 (measured at the blower outlet) but the restriction lies within the stock B18B head, which is a "flow pig" to begin with. How much WHP is much more???

well here is the thing though when you crank up the boost on the m45 it creats alot more heat than the M62 and also if you do some minor headwork and cams there is no reason not to have the ability to upgrade. why would you start with something that you get stuck with when you can get something that you can upgrade for almost the same price. you all know as well as I do as soon as you FI a car you want more and more.

96integrars,

u hit a 14.5 with your jrsc? what mods do you have on your motor? i have my b18b in a hatch, not an integra though so i'm hoping for a low 14 since my car is lighter than the integra.

14.5 was run in September of 2001. I'm shooting for a 14.1, haven't had any time in the last year and a half to run it. I think I can hit this with no problem, car retuned, better tires/suspension, new clutch/flywheel. Full interior RS.

Here's what I have:

Jackson Racing Supercharger at 9psi w/ thru-fender DC cold air intake, K&N filter
Acura Integra Type R Flywheel
Exedy Organic Clutch
DC Sports Ceramic 4-2-1 Header
DC Catback Stainless Exhaust
Powercore Hi-flo Catalytic Converter
Apexi VAFC Fuel Computer
Jackson Racing MAP Modifier
Jackson Racing BTC
Endyn 9Psi Stepper Pulley
Walbro 342 Fuel Pump
B&M fuel pressure gauge
Mugen Thermostat
Mugen Radiator Cap
Venom Engine Temperature Monitor (IAT monitor)
ES Motor Mounts
Eibach ProKit springs
KYB AGX Struts
Rota 15” Subzero’s
205/50/15 Toyo FZ-4’s
DC Short Shifter
etc.

T.O.O fuel pressure mod, Stock 235cc injectors, max fuel pressure 85PSI. No problems with injectors, had 270cc units, didn't jive with JR MAP mod. STOCK block.
