I have a Garrett t3/t4 57trim .48a/r and use a -3 Stainless line with NO restrictor and have absolutely no problems. Most people will say get one anyway since they are under $20.

Same thing here but with an ebay t70. Still running strong after 1 year. No leak, no smoke.

get the restrictor - they arent expensive and can heelp prolong your turbos life

lol, a restrictor on a turbo that doesn't need one is more likely to cause problems than help.

I've never ran a restrictor with a -3 line on a journal bearing turbo. Never had a problem that way either. There is a significant pressure drop across a 30" long -3 line that is why no restrictor is needed. If you really want to run a restrictor up the line size to a -4.

First of, find out how much oil pressure that you're running.

Second, how is your return line ran ?

Over 75% of the problem that I have seen with turbo blowing seals is caused by return line not draining fast enough than the oil feed dumping too much oil. Your turbo spins at an incredible rate, how much oil gets in the bearing is not the issue, but how fast can the oil exit and not cooking the bearing is the key.

That's why we used 45 degree adapters and 45 degree hose ends, I could've made the return line kit a lot cheaper with straight hose ends, but that wouldn't be right, would it ?

I get sick with all this manifold mfg designing this bad *** manifold only to find the turbo drain right parallel with the oil pan...get a good manifold that are designed properly rather than buying it based on looks.
