300whp+ GSR-T EK.. Stage 5 clutch overkill?
When I bought my car the guy included a Clutchmaster Fx500 Stage 5 race clutch, now don't get me wrong, I love how it'll hook and all that, but in your experience.. can you run it on the street for daily driving, can I slip it at all or drive it without making the car lunge? Or do i need to sell it and get a stage 3 or something?
It's still new in box, and the clutch I have in now is slowly dying.
Any help here?
97' Championship White EK Hatch - Turbo'd B18C1 - approx. 300whp+ @ 8lbs. on pump.
The power im making might be more later but as of now, not yet for at least 7-8 months.

It really depends upon the use of the car and power attained. The FX400 is a very nice combination as well, and uses a full-face carbon-Kevlar disc. I honestly think that is a bit more suitable for up to 500whp on a B-series application. Any more than that, and no matter what company you choose, you'll be in the unsprung hub, or twin disc phase by then.

Honestly I had a competition clutch stage 5 four puck unsprung and I had the drive the car for about a month. it sucked at first but I got used to it and it was no problem... but its a nightmare at first. I would almost like accidently launch. it grabbed like eagle claws on a salmon

Ive driven an SPRUNG stage five 4 puck app before thoh (CC brand), and it was surprisingly streetable for a clutch with that much holding power. I have one on the way as well for my 450 whp LS/VTEC build, but this car will see alot of track abuse at VMP, hence the reason I went with it.

I have a stage 4 competition clutch in my 230whp setup (more hp to come) and it feels like stock when you press the clutch down. As for daily driving it really isnt bad it does take getting used when its first installed. I love it. Oh yea mine is sprung makes it better for a dd
