Re: 300 hp turbo d series??? (d16vtecx)
seriously, i was just sitting around scratching my head thinking, for the price of a STOCK gsr swap and a decent turbo set up you could have a nicely built d series motor with a nice custm setup and money left to spare. i just wanna see what numbers a d-series will make with rods, pistons, stock sleeves and say 18-20psi on 91 octane gas, if the sleeves can even handle that.

freinds D series made 312.7hp @ 8800, 18psi, 91 octane, stock sleeves, Ebay turbo kit, 9.0 CR, had room for about 10-20 hp but owner did not want to push it. It beat my GSR on 10 PSI. Both Cars Stoopid Tuned.

im not built, but on a completely stock motor i made 273whp and ran a 12.1 @ 12.5psi.
350whp can be easily achieved w/ the right turbo setup and tune (on a built bottom end).

one guy on here has 424whp on stock sleeves w built bottom end. im in the process of boosting my stock motor right now. im gonna build another motor then see how much power i can make on a total stock block. i will keep u updated on #'s when i get them. i dont think u could really go wrong w a d16.

headstuds are a must on a boosted d16. they lift the head rather easily.

unfortunately achieving ~400whp isn't the easiest task on a d16. the head does not flow that well, so you'll need a good head job to get it flow enough to make around 400whp.

go to epictuning.com look at their project car.. they ran 11.60s on a stock d16z6 with arp head bolts and a neptune..its cake to piece together a decent kit for cheap..though i admitt its all in the tune..you should check out homemadeturbo.com as well..you can get some pieces out of a junk yard using dsm parts..
later and good luck..

Check out my friends car... 363whp 331.7TQ Stock Sleeves
This was with a .48 exhaust housing. That's why the TQ falls off. He's now running a .63 exhaust housing but we havn't gone back to the dyno yet.
