3/8 ARP 2000 -12 rod bolt stretch spec?
Ive contact ARP... talked to RONF.. what a freaking idiot.
RONF has decided on behalf of ARP that since i got my bolts from FJT and i am using FJT rods that they cant provide me a stretch spec... im sure he will hear of FJT soon enough.
lol
i wish i could start over and just say they are Eagle H beams lol
so what is the offical rod bolt stretch on a 3/8 ARP 2000 -12 bolt?
i contacted FJT and he suggested to torque to 40ftlb with ARP lube. Either that or Im returning this stretch gauge! and i dont wana do that!

According to ARP tables it should be 40lbs/ft with ARP Molly Lube..
If you use W30 oil then its a bit higher.. Ive hear engine builders using anywhere from 43-48lbs/ft with regular w30 oil...

Re: (welfarepc)
I agree with FJT on this 40lbs w/lube shoudl be fine. We've been recommending this torque spec to our customers for about five years on our rods, and have not had a reported issue. (Of course there was one guy that used an impact wrench, but there's no warranty coverage on that kind of "damage")

This is the info i got from my supplier of ARP's for the specific bolts i suply with the rods..
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">The bolts need a stretch of approx .0055" to .006", which usually requires
about 50-55 ft-lbs if you are using the ARP Moly lube. It is higher with
standard oil on the threads</TD></TR></TABLE>
Now i asked my mechanic/tunner and he uses for ARP 2000 3/8" rod bolts on Eagles 43lbs/ft with the ARP Moly lube.. If using standard oil then he uses around 48lbs/ft.
Never had a problem using these figures and his cars are usually revved to 8500-8800rpms
