2500 Mile Full-Race Cross Country Trip
Well, after a few (actually a LOT) of Coronas during Geoffs end of the summer BBQ, we questioned the idea as to whether his turbo civic would make it across country to his shop in AZ. Well apparently the alcohol was in full force because after a little negotiating, I agreed to go for it.
I left late Friday after work, and after a few days of driving I made it out Sunday to Mesa, AZ where his shop resides.
The car ran flawlessly. I drove it straight through, stopping one night at a hotel, but otherwise running it about 16 hours a day stopping for fuel and letting it cool down.
It started up no problem, drove and idled just about perfectly. It was a pleasure to drive especially trying to fight traffic and avoid trucks and mergers. All parts of his turbo kit performed flawlessly. No cracks in the manifolds, any damaged welds, any leaking fittings..etc. the only thing I could complain about was lack of cup holders.
the big shocker is it's a big horsepower, 11 second, TRUE daily driver.
It sure had me impressed because last thing I wanted was to break down in Oklahoma or New Mexico
Good job Geoff.

it's horror stories like that which made me a little nervous at first, but all confidence was there after the first 100 miles..
Hanging out with Geoff and crew in Tempe, then driving to Cali to go kick some *** at the finals with Gary

Re: 2500 Mile Full-Race Cross Country Trip (Jay Dirt)
im glad it worked haha its sooooooooo nice to have my car on this side of the country.
jason, that trip to battle was the ****, the cracking manifolds was jsut to add to the fun haha
im glad jay did this tho it was really a good test for our turbo kit to see if it would live, and no problems at all. so turbo hondas are reliable after alll, and properly built motors work just fine

Im glad your car is finally here. I gotta see how fast it is. Nobody in AZ is fast at all.

Only jersey folk would try this, hehe, Imagine a 6 foot 6 guy nestled under a rollcage driving a 450hp car across country, hehe..Gary told me you were stoppin quite a few times to let the car cool down tho.
