240se turbo or h22 cx turbo
title says it all..... had a b16 si hatch turbo before but couldnt work the bugs out so i gave up on that....... now i have a 96 240se and finished my 93 cx h22.... offcourse the little civic is much more fun to drive but the 240 feels nice ...... anyways for those who have experienced both what would you do? 240se sr20 swap or boost the kA? i was thinking about boosting my hatch and sell the 240.. just want to knoe what your experience is with boosted 240's and boosted h22 eg's

There are hundreds of boosted hatchbacks out there. Do a sr20det or rb25det swap, plus it "right wheel drive"..

there are also many many 240's with an sr20det swap. I would go with teh 240 and swap a nice rb25det in that beast

right wheel drive? wtf is that?
but yeah, your 240 is a rear wheel drive machine, but as far as commonality goes, the 240 is the new "civic" in terms of popularity due to the increase in "drift" phenomena. the sr20 swap would be sweet and u'd get props, but i've seen a lot of built ka24 turbos stomp on sr20's for the same cost of getting that sr. if u could get the rb that would be best, but if ur pressed for cash build ur KA. as far as the h22 cx turbo would go, good luck getting traction. i'd be fast, but only when u got it moving.

Re: 240se turbo or h22 cx turbo (llxzxll)
my reasons for leaning towards the civic was emissions its getting strick and with the 240 being a 96 model it is obd2 computer plug versues the civic exhaust test.. and as far as cost, anyone knoe what ball park the sr20 swap goes ? i estimate at 5g's or even the rb motor.... yes rear wheel drive is fun and its a different feel, drove that sucka this winter and its a bitch to keep straight even in 1-2inch snow its no help at all!!!!
i knoe its great for drift or what not but i dont knoe where you guys find the place to actually drift and not get caught..
basically for those who have had both or driven both what are your thoughts... i never rode a boosted 240 but i have in a turbo teg... nissan seems to have a more complex ecu more wiring...
how much more reliable would the boosted 240 be compared to the h22 boosted realistically.. Does anyone knoe if the RB motors are obd2 or are all japanese motors OBD1?

having owned both a
RB20 swapped 240sx
and a
D16Y5-T
I would honestly go with the 240sx. RWD is AWESOME!! I miss my 240sx but the problems were gettign to be exspensive (mostly my fault). My RB20 swap ran me around 2700 INCLUDING the front clip. Of course I didnt change **** like the clutch or anythi8ng at first. Still had a SMIC. BUt it was still fun.
