Default 21 PSI on 90 OCTANE.. RELIABLE OR FAST?

I am tuner... here are spec.

the x2

keep in mind

this is a budget (low$$$) build

D16A6
Vitara 8.5:1
Eagle rods
Edelbrock mani
Ebay .63/50 turbo; 450 supported HP or whatever
Cast Iron turbo mani, 2.5" long runners (good wastegate location)
massiv Ntercooler
big injectors
3 bar map
ARP/ACL yadda yadda yadda.
Motor was built very, very well; by someone who belongs in a mental institution.

Hondata S300

For the Tuners:

I keps AFR's at 12.2 up until about 12 PSI... then i fattened it up to 11.8 till about 17-18 PSI. at 20-21PSI i keep it at 11.4 rock solid through the powerband

I tried to run 20 degrees of timing@20PSI and got a tiny, tiny bit of knock at about 5800-6200RPM (right after turbo spooling peak) so I backed off peak timing to 19deg@20.2PSI and let it drop to 17deg@redline. obviously I used a progressive declining curve for the timing; peak timing at peak torque.

lets just say that

**** pulls hard as ****, no matter what the boost level is; for that amount of boost.

It has a very, very nasty camshaft. 260+deg duration. > big hint.....

I use cossworth approved methods for detecting detonation or "knock" so I KNOW that there is no det in the engine on my tune. I bet EGT's are high as ****in christ but i didnt use an egt so ah...... read the title and answer my question those who possess the mental power. thx.

long live the turbo honda

Just a couple of questions for you (bumping this up for you), why did you use a declining timing curve? Was you boost creeping up, or was it that you were trying to make extra boost at the top using diminishing timing advance?

Can you describe the cossworth approved methods for detecting knock please?
