Default 2002 Civic with Greddy E-Manage wont' work with ECU. Anyone know why?

This is for a friend who's car has been to two shops trying to get his custom turbo working with e-manage. The ECU and e-manage just won't get along. He says if you turn up the fuel on the e-manage and the ECU leans it out. The current shop it's at just doesnt' think the e-manage will work with his car.

He's tried contacting Greddy but they're not any help at all. I'm just curious if there is anything different with the new civic's ECU.

No one heard of anything? Anyone here with a boosted '02 civic?

C'mon...no one? He's about to buy a standalone on a 8psi setup just because he's tired of no one being able to help him out. Big waste of money in my opinion since he doesn't plan on going any higher on boost.

Why wouldn't the e-manage work with the ECU?

HAve you tried calling Greddy. The 2002 computers are a lot different than the older ECU's in Hondas.

He should set the e-manage to be initially adding a little less gas. Is the e-manage done on a proportional or absolute basis? It modifies the pulse width signal, but it should be guaranteeing at a specific point in the fuel map there is a specific pulse duration. It sounds like it is just adding a percentage onto the value from the ECU and causing problems.

This is why I'm going to go with a secondary fuel rail and 4 extra injectors to handle boost duties..
