2 strange hondata/tach/romulator problems
problem 1: I've had this happen on 2 car's I've tuned now. car will continue to rev and will switch over to vtec, but after 5500rpms, the tach on the cluster goes to zero, the car continues to rev like normal and hondata datalogs perfectly, just that the customer's tach reads zero, until the rpms come down under 5500 rpms. Both are obd2 cars. One has a MSD distributor on the car and never did this on his old stock engine with stock distributor, now has built engine with MSD dizzy. other car was a obd2 car with stock distributor. both cars rev fine, no breaking up and now are using the 3step for thier shiftlight, so they aren't bouncing off revlimitor.
problem 2: this problem has only occurred on big horsepower cars. I'll be tuning with romulator attached to car, we are doing a 4th gear pull, cars are accelerating pretty briskly and all of a sudden the CEL comes on and the car litterally stops moving for a second, its like the car goes into limp mode for an instance. last time i noticed that it appeared the hondata blue box reset itself on one of the cars, as launch limitor, shift light and WOT shift were all back to 12500 from thier normal position. I've had this happen on my personal car, where the blue box didn't reset and on a big block car with his blue box. its only happened once on my car and i thought it could be the cable, so i replaced the hondata cable, but have yet to have it happen to me again. it seems to happen constantly on the other car at any time we attempt to get past 18psi on it.
atfirst i wondered if the romulator's buffer was having an issue, but that doesnt' make sense, as even not changing anythign during a pull, it will randomly do this.
all cars mentioned have s200s

I'm currently having the same tach issue, but mine is only after 3K. Car runs great, and Neptune is datalogging the correct RPMs, but the tach will just not work past 3K.

on the problem 2 cars, one was running 18-20psi when the problem happened, the other was just 22psi. although i have hit my boost limitor by mistake once and that was a little fucked up when you are at the top of 3rd on the track and the car just turns off...I assume that 28+psi is like that with 3bar with hondata.
the rev thing just doesn't make sense. I know there was one guy i tuned and he put a J&S on the car and it started to do the same thing with stock Dizzy. he just ran the blue wire from the dizzy over to the cluster, since on obd2 cars, the blue wire doesn't go back to the cluster like on obd1 cars.

I've had this happen to me on 3 cars in the past. I'll be tuning and I will make changes as necessary.... the power should be going up but it says the same. I will have to reboot the computer, unplug/replug the keyspans, start hondata up, upload the new calibration file, then everything is good and changes in power/tq are seen.
This happened to me again on saturday when I was tuning a b16 with s200b.
