well im about to order my turbo and manifold tonight. im plaining on getting the sc34 turbo and a lovefab shortie manifold. im shooting for 250-300hp. but for now i will only be running .5 bar on the stock internals.

will i regret getting full 2.5" (downpipe, testpipe, exhaust) or should i just go with 3" from the start?

I'd get 3" all the way. I don't know about the clearances for ac with that manifold but if you can get a 3"....get it

You can do both actually. go from a 2.5" --&gt; 3" gradual increase, and go to a 3" exhaust

yea he no longer makes them, but a buddy of mine is selling his so it works out great for me.

i dont have ps if ac gets in the way its gone!

If you have not gotton a 60mm (2.5" apx) exhaust yet than go with a 3" with test pipe and DP if you can

Actually, if the exducer isn't larger than 2.25 inches, then wouldn't a 3 inch be an overkill?

Use whatever size downpipe it comes with, and go with 3" exhaust all the way back from there. 3" flex pipe, 3" piping, 3" madrel bends if possible, and 3" straight through muffler.

Don't get rid of the a/c, it's better for resale someday, and the difference of 2.5" and 3" just at the downpipe at that hp level won't matter.

My old set up is in my sig, made more power than you want with a/c and 3" exhaust and the sc34

In my honest opinion and experience (turbocharging german cars) 3" is overkill and the hp gain is minimal specially if you compare to the problems 3" exhaust gives you

a) very noisy
b) hard to fit
c) cracks easier
d) heavier
e) more expensive

etc.

what is really important is that you have a nice free flowing downpipe, that where the velocity of the gasses are needed to be as free as possible, after that, the loss of heat compresses the gasses and the diameter of the pipes are a little less important

You won't get all those problems going from 2.5 inch exhaust to 3 inch exhaust lol... 3 inch cracks easier and it's heavier? It's not going to crack any easier and it's like a **** hair heavier so that won't matter. I have full 3 inch exhaust (resonator and muffler) and it's very quiet, it was only like 10 bucks more than 2.5 inch also.

Better flow=better spool up, and more overall hp, I would have 5" if I could

Unless your making huge power, the different between 2.5" and 3" exhaust will be likely be unnoticable.
