1st gen vs. 2nd gen AEM EMS

i think this is the right form for this....

-does anyone have a picture of them side by side...i would like to see how much smaller the new one is compared to the old one.

-also, is the new one the same as the old one, but just more compact or are there new features?

-reason being i found one of both and deciding which one to buy...because obviously the 1st gen will be cheaper but im wondering if the new will be worth the extra $$$.

TIA

Some of the older versions have issues with some of the coil outputs. It's not a big problem unless you want to run a direct fire coil on plug setup.

i'd like to know too. someone told me they're the same, it's just that the new boxes are more compact.

Re: (undercoverdc2)

the newer boxes are more compact, a few more available outputs, more coil outputs(4) and a few more inputs. the wiring is alittle different also. With the older style box if you wanted to run a hall effect sensor, you had to solder some resistors onto the mainboard. The newer boxes has jumpers on the mainboard you can switch between stock or an hall effect setup. thats all the differences i can see or heard of.

what are the extra outputs for? and would you need more than 1 output?

what is the hall effect sensor?

Some of the new boxes also have built in UEGO sensors. All the software/programming/tuning features will be the same because you can DL the latest version (1.19 currently) and update the firmware on the 1st gen EMS.
