Default 1995 Prelude Turbo H22A2

Hi, I want to boost Prelude to "street setup". No drag, race, etc. My goal is to maximize the power, until it will be safe for my engine.

I am not sure with a few parts.

Can I use OEM head gasket?
Which cams to use? I can buy BC Stage2 turbo cams for good price.
Skunk2 Pro Series Cam Gears or AEM Tru-Time?
How big injectors is needed?
My crank has 1,000 miles, is better to buy new or is still good for boost?

My plan:

H22A2 Head
-Unported head
-Supertech bronze valve guides
-Supertech Exhaust Valve - flat, stock sized, Black Nitride coated
-Supertech Intake Valve - flat, stock sized, Black Nitride coated
-Z.speed Springs
-Z.speed Titanium Retainers
-OEM Honda head gasket
-cams (OEM H22A7 Accord TypeR)
-Cam Gears OEM
-ARP Head Studs

H22A2 Block
-Darton Flanged Dry Sleeves – 87mm bore
-Wiseco 87mm CR 8,5:1
-Eagle Rods
-ARP main studs
-new OEM oil pump
-Kaizen Speed balancer shaft eliminator kit + manual tensioner kit
-Unorthodox racing pulleys kit
-OEM crank 50mm = H22A2
-Clevite Bearings
-Gates Racing High Performance Timing belt

-Header and downpipe – special from http://www.nellospeed.cz/

-ID 1000 injectors

-turbo: -turbo Garrett GT3076R
-BOV Tial
-wastegate Tial 38mm

In addition to the engine, I purchased the following:
-Port matched & polished Skunk2 Pro Series intake manifold
-Skunk2 throttle body 68mm
-ACT flywheel
-Exedy Clutch
-U2Q7 from Accord TypeR with LSD Honda
-ECU P28
-catback Invidia N1, 2,5''
-walbro 255 fuel pump
-MAP 2.5 bar
-XYZ 6piston 330 disc – front brake
-NSX oem rear caliper and hawk pads and hawk disc – rear brake
-TEIN suspension with EDFC
-energy suspension HYPERFLEX Master system kit
-ES motor mounts
-ebay turbo kit (Wastegate, blowoff and turbo - I want to replace it with a brand such as GReddy, Garrett, etc.)

First off am an H nut and know what works and what dont...

Minus 600 hp use stock cams I don't see any major gains with special turbo cams such as crower/etc. To be honest I have seen lost power over OEM cams. If you want more hp and want cams Skunk2 pro1 NA cams. If pro 1 get matching pro skunk2 cam gears.

Zspeed ? answer is no, get supertech valve springs/retainers
Ebay turbo kit? Answer is no, wastegate/bov are crap wont hold or vent boost correctly... turbo is junk and will go... contact RCautoworks for a custom turbo kit. They make everything from intercooler piping to turbo manifolds. A good kit will cost you about 3-4k

500 hp minus can get away with 880cc injectors. Plan for more... FIC 1100cc injectors. Saturated/high impedence.

4 bar map

Yes some guys under 600hp can use and be fine with OEM Honda headgasket. I use cometic MLS with sleeved motor.

Precision sc61 series such as 76e good turbo/spool for 500 hp minus... Precision 62 series for more hp or 64...

Catback must be atleast 3" or wont flow... and be very restrictive...

A must will be our ESP 92-96 Prelude Traction Bar System with Front Torque Mount Kit H/F and 5 spd Motor Mount Kit. Without that you aint going no where

Cranks can be resused no matter how many miles just get it polished.... 400 hp probably 60-61mm turbo from precision... you don't want to go to big for street sounds like you want a good responsive streetable turbo with not a bit of lag...

Hi, Can you advise me? What pressure to 400whp on my H22A2? What wastegate from TIAL? 1.3bar (18.85PSI)?

NO.. stick with a .9bar or 1bar spring and use a manual controller for the rest. But be warned. at the 400hp mark, you're REALLY risking cylinder sleeve damage.

18psi spring is WAY too large for that power level on a GT3076R. Do not get too far ahead of yourself.

on an H22, especially the EDM/JDM version, you don't need sleeves and forged internals for 3-400hp.

the 3076r will make your desired power goals but the turbo would be much happier at the 400hp level as you're right in the turbos sweet spot.

OEM headgasket is the best way to go

As far as cams, I would personally keep the cams you have. The EDM/JDM H22 cams are great pieces and well engineered from the factory. They would be right at home in your setup and that's money you could put elsewhere in the build.

Ditch the ebay turbo and manifold (unless it is a cast manifold) as you'll have more headaches than you'd care to think about... not to mention having to replace those components when they fail (not if)

Other than that your build looks solid with quality parts... I just don't think (and I think others will agree) that for 300-400hp that you don't need sleeves and internals. Just an OEM headgasket and a set of ARP headstuds
