180000 mile ls motor what bore pistons
hey guys doing new pistons in my ls motor can i use the stock bore81mm pistons and do just a light hone and be ok any help is appreciated trying to keep this a low budget build meaning not spending alot lol

you could, but you'd end up with slightly loose clearances. One of my friends did this and it resulted in an annoying diesel like sound at idle with whatever forged pistons he had. He hated it, and tore it all apart. 81.5mm is what I'd do.

Here's how you are supposed to do it:
Measure the concavity created by the miles of wear and tear. If the specs in the Honda manual call for a bore....do a bore. If it doesn't , then you can do a hone. With that many miles you will most likely have to do a bore to 81.5mm

i may just use the motor the way it is for now then build what should i look for on the pistons and bearings to show bad wear i will have the oil pan and head off
