17" w/ BF Good. Drag Radial or 16" w/ Nitto Drag Radial? Help! No flames either =)
I really wanted to run 16" wheels on my car but the only Drag Radials they offer in 16's are the nittos which I know arent the best.. I REALLY want to run a BF Goodrich Drag Radial since they are the ****!! (I dont care about the cost to replace them as I will pay that)... I am curious if the 17" wheel and tire combo will hook.. With either size I am going to run a 13-15lb wheel so the weight wont be that much of an issue.. I just want to be able to hook pretty good at the street races.. I have slicks for the track.. What are the differences gonna be and would the chance to run the BF Goodrich tire be reason enough to run 17's? I am not gonna run 15's b/c the car stilll has to look really good due to the fact it is our namesake on the road for the shop.. The car will make 400+whp and be running the z10 radias arms more than likely as well..

I would go 15's if you are keeping the Ls tranny. Shiet, 15's even on the Gsr tranny. Just find some 15's to use for the track.

Just run the 16's with the 555rs this might not be as good as the BFGs but that doesn't mean that they are junk in my opinion they are awesome drag radials, besides if you are going to be using the z10 radious arms that's going to benefit your traction a lot. Remember the key for traction goes way beyond just tires. Make sure you got a good suspension setup and setting and i believe either of those radials should do the job right.
On a side note .....Street racing

I have a set of the 15" nitto drag radials on my car now, and i'm actually pretty pleased with them. They grip well and are very predictable. And get this: they actually grip in the rain!! no ****! For the lowest street drag radial on the totem pole, i have to say i would more than happily spend another $78.00 each on a new set after i wear these out.
Basically what i'm saying is, you can get a pair of them for practically nothing. If you dont like em, then sell them to me

Thanks guys!!
Who said anything about street racing? Art just asked what I ran at the track..
I would rather go with the 17" wheel and tire set up because it "looks" better and with my job, I need a car that is very appealing to my customers.. I am just curious if the 17" w/ BF Goodrich would perform as well or better than the 16" Nitto 555R's???

Hey damon whats up? What you should do is sell me those 16s with the drags radials on them at a really good price. Or even better i will trade you my 17 inch verdicts and give you a little bit of cash to buy the BFG tires. . No but after reading this post im gonna have to look into those 17 inch BFG (who knows they might be pretty good tires)
