1600cc injectors on a daily driver? Bad Idea?
Will I have a decent idle with 1600cc injectors or will I be fauling plugs all day long driving this thing in traffic. I want to do my fuel system once and only once, but if I can't daily drive it theres no point in steping up to 1600cc injectors.
Also, has anyone on here used the AEM injector driver box? Seems like the supra guys are able to idle 1600cc injectors with it at 1100rpm and ~14:1 AFR.
Thanks,
Justin

sure you can daily drive on them...just depends where you want the idle to be haha....you won't be idling at the stock 700rpm, that's for damn sure.

550's are good to 300hp. so why on earth would you need 1600's. if your making that much power how on earth could you drive it on the street?

probalby because like most members in the F/I forum they aspire to have alot more then just 300whp. maybe it's going to be a sfwd/t4 car in the 700-900whp range.. also it would be pretty easy to drive a high hp car on the street being that there's an invention called a boost controller to limit boost and not to mention the all faithfull right foot which if used correctly will make the car never see boost for daily driving...

They max out at more power than just about any of us will ever see.
flip1199: I love your response....especially the right foot part

That's why there have been handfulls of cars maxing out their 1000CC's lately? Don't speak on something you have no knowledge of.

Just curious how the idle on these 1600 cc injectors. I know these won't idle like stock but something close to it would be nice. Although I know that would be the least of our worries.

Re: (EH-3)
your definately going to want to use some kind of ems that can change injector phase to allow you to open the injectors sooner to make up for there sluggish reaction time
