Default 145,000 mi and turbo

hey everyone- I am new around here, and just getting to know some people...
anyway, I need some help. I have a 93 prelude vtec. it has 145,000 miles on it. Runs strong, leaks only a drop of oil a month, and uses about 1 qt. in 3000 miles. I know this is high milage, but I want a turbo. Getting a t3/t4. here are my

compression numbers: (in lbs/sq.in.)
#1-200 #2-220 #3-216 #4-222.

leakdown percentages are as follows:
#1-85% #2-84% #3-88% #4-76%

is it suitable for boost? how much? will detonation be a problem with the h22? what damages am i prepping myself for? thanks!

I am not a guru but I say that refreshing the rings, bearings, and having the head refreshed would be a safe bit of insurance. It looks like evrything is good from your numbers on the bottom end but I like refreshing especially because you'll be putting a beat-down on it once you turbo on it. If you didn't, turbo-ing it wouldn't be any fun. Unfortuantely doing those things will cost a bit and be time consuming. Another suggestion would be to do it without the internal work and have the option of a back up block in the works. Making the newer one stronger while you have the current set-up on the road.

I would still get it rebuilt with stronger parts and a newer head gasket...might want to consider lowering the compression a bit..

I'd say don't turbo it, with compression ranging from 222-200, thats not good at all, and leakdown numbers don't look so hot either. Your motor may not blow as soon as you put the turbo on, but it sure will speed up the wear. You don't wanna be stuck with a nice expensive turbo and no money to rebuild the motor you blew after a week of fun.

i was running 15psi on my 140,000 mile d16z6. Although after a few 1000 miles of that i spun a rod bearing because of the age. I highly recommend swapping the rod bearings with new ones...but ya..turbo it!

If you had a H23a like me, than I would say your aight, ( I have 140k with a new Turbo kit on)
But the turbo H22a is a whole different beast. I wouldnt do it, higher compression engine, your losing a quart between changes and your compression is good but varying compression of more than 15 is touchy.
