12.1 D series street car??Truth or fiction,help me out.
I have been building turbo cars for about 4 years now,and race at the track once a month....I know this kid that walks around talking about his "D-motor turbo civic that runs 12.1"......I have never seen the car run,or the timeslip, and know that this is the kids first turbo car/setup,and other D turbo cars I have seen run in the high 13's low 14's and sometimes 15's lol......I am impressed by beerbongs car,and he is running 12.7..........I talk to my Honda friends and even they are calling bullshit.....the kid comes on here,I am just wondering what are your thoughts? The guy says the motor is blown up but a new one being built,so I cannot see the car run.....have you guys heard of a D motor car from Hawaii running 12.1?? Fact or fiction?

I dont know about hawaii, but boosteded9 (I think that is his sn) ran 11's in his stock d16z6 a long *** time ago. There's a few others too who run 12's, even low 12's on stock D series. So yea, it's possible. Who knows if he's telling the truth.

It's not that hard to believe... all you need is a very good tune, the best peripherals and some HELLA weight reduction!

Yeah it's very possible, my SOHC ran 7.4@98 in the 1/8 about three years ago. But it blew a head gasket in 4th gear and still ran 12.3@118 and never got another pass out of it becuase a friend bought it shortly after. Full interior EX coupe!

I did 12.4 with my street map set at 15 psi ( 287whp )... and many guy out there have pretty good setup on their sohc. So yes its pretty possible. A sohc in the 10 is also possible.
