Default 1000cc Injectors effect gas mileage?

I just bought brand New Precision 1000cc injectors. I had a problem with my dsm 450's. I bought them from someone on here and 3 out of the 4 didn't work. I planed to go with a bigger setup by the end of the year so I bought the 1000cc injectors. I have now changed my mind. I would like to keep the daily driver aspect of my setup. Im not really one of the power hungry types. My car will be proffesionaly tunned but I was wondering if the 1000cc injectors would cause problems as far as gas mileage etc. I already know its overkill for my current setup but as I said before, I was going to go with a bigger setup when I got my built block in a couple months.

Here was my setup:

1. Greddy / Mitsubishi TDO5 18G Turbo
2. Greddy Turbo Manifold
3. Greddy RS BOV
4. Greddy 31V Intercooler
5. Greddy Intercooler piping
6. Greddy Profec B Spec II
7. Greddy Sadwich Plate
8. Energy Suspension Motor Mount Inserts
9. DSM 450cc Injectors
10. Low impedence Resistor Box
11. OBD1 Injector Clips
12. Chipped P28 / Crome
13. Boomslang OBD1 Conversion Harness
14. Walbro 255LPH Fuel Pump
15. Oil Catch Can
16. AEM EUGO Wideband O2
17. Prosport Boost Gauge
18. Prosport Oil Pressure Gauge
19. Triple Gauge Pod
20. H22a1 OBD1 Distributor

I currently dont have the 450's in or the 1000cc injectors...

it's all in your tune homie.

I've got 1000's and still get 25mpg driving mixed highway/street driving with some pulls here and there.

It all comes down to your tune.

With 1000cc injectors I averaged 23mpg on my trip to and from Nashville and that includes a lot of boosting and hard driving.

I would bet cruising @ 80 its closer to 30

Well as you can see my setup wont be making as much power as yours. Hopefully that will have nothing to do with it.

my current setup is a stock block w/ the 30r ... running off a 3psi wastegate spring. It holds that til 6000ish and creeps, finally only making like 272whp. Even at 400whp on my last build, i averaged around 20mpg.

The numbers are low, but the car before me blew up on the dyno and scared me, so it didn't want to up the boost at all ...

That's kinda off topic, so i'll leave it at this...

If you're making more power, sure it'll end up taking more gas but ONLY when you're at WOT and in boost.

A turbo'd car is no different than an n/a car - drive it like an ******* and you'll get shitty gas mileage...

So my over sized injectors will be fine even with my build? As long as they wont cause problems I am good with it. I will probably be running like 30% duty cycle lol. I herd somewhere that you want it around 50%.

in an ideal world 70-80% duty cycle is what your shooting for...running them less than that and your not going to get perfect atomization.....but w/ a good tuner youd barely notice mpg fluctations

You should be ok. As others have mentioned, it's all in the tune. My friend has a built/tuned eclipse with 750's and gets about 28 mpg city/highway. If you stay in vacuum, and not romp on it, you should get N/A mileage.

I know you're asking about 1000cc, but it just gives some insight too

i got around 35miles to the gallon on my trip to boston in my car with 1000cc injectors, its all about the tune and your driving style. i took it pretty easy on the car as it was the first day i had it on the road my regular gas mileage is much worse lol.

1000cc injectors for an 18g? That's a first. How much boost are you going to be running?

Coming from the supra world after going from the stock 550cc to 850cc then to 1000cc, its all in the tune. Even after the upgrades, I had tuned it to get better than stock mileage and still have killer spool. It's doable
