Default 1000 miles in, have a look at these pistons please

Ok as title says, I've done about 1000 miles since the map and I've had to take the head off.*

No running issues or anything like that, I over tightened the oil pressure switch and cracked the block. School boy error I know.

So I'm taking apart to get welded up.*

Anyway, here are the pistons in the exact state they were when head came off. No wiping or cleaning.*

What do you think, *about right, *bad, not*ideal, very good??

Pic of valves too

The skirts would show the most info involving too tight of a ptw gap and/or detonation

You would not normally look at the skirts for detonation sign. The spark plugs is the place to look as you know...

Yea id say it was running a bit rich, some brake parts cleaner should take that off.

Looks like a car that runs on gasoline to me.

WD40/brake clean the tops if you want, but I wouldn't even bother.

Thanks everyone.
Yeah it runs on shell vpower.

As I said, no apparent running issues. Just had to whip the head off to sort this crack out on back of block.

Thanks for the input

The head probably has done best part of 100k. But I had it all pressure tested before I fitted it. It came of a dc2.

Pic of the graph below for those interested
Engine spec is:
B16a2
81mm wiseco pistons
Manley rods
Acl bearings
Arp bolts
Dc2 head with b18c4 cams
1000cc Sard injectors
Ebay copy gt30 turbo
Cast inline pro manifold
3 inch downpipe and exhaust.
Tial waste gate

Car is a eg civic

The over shoot that you can see in the graph

Looks like it spikes 1-2 psi then gets stable then starts to creep a bit

Looks good, a bit rich and the plug had not seen a lot of heat before you took the head off.
