10.5:1 in a D-series..just making sure
First off yes, I searched, and I found more info than I thought possible. But there were a couple things I'm not sure about.
The set up I am looking to run is:
Z6 motor/tranny:
Arias 10.5:1 pistons
aftermarket rods(maybe LS rods, we'll see)
pnp'd head
a medium sized turbo(not 14b small, but also nothing like an sc61 or anything. Reccomendations would be appreciated )
I would like to run 8psi daily, maybe 12 or so at the track(max 250hp or so, but 230 is more reasonable)
93 octane is readily available......and I dont have to worry about emissions(at least the mid west is good for one thing)
Now for the question:
1. Should I take out he 10.5:1 comp pistons and get lower comp pistons? Or should I just lower the cr with a thicker head gasket? The reason i ask is because I live in St louis and from what i found searching you need a good tuner to tune 10.5:1, which is something we dont have here. The last thing I need is this blowing up since it's my DD.
That is the only question that I can think of. If anyone wants to offer up any suggestions let them fly. I'm going from B series NA to D turbo, so I'm still learning. TIA for any help.

GT28RS DiscoPotato would be sick on that setup. Keep the 10.5:1 and just tune safe! why? https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1027496 thats why.
I bet there has to be somebody around there that could tune your car for ya. If not road trip time!
d-series + 10.5 + small turbo = super fun It would feel like a much larger motor with good torque and good power all around.

anybody else want to help a newbie out?
And I'm thinking t3 .60/.48. I believe this works well with the goal I am going for. Not sure if that helps any in answering the 10.5:1 CR. TIA again for any help.

10.5:1 is still moderate compression. With conservative timing and good gas you should be fine.

i used that compression calculator that someone posted up once and it said my compression was around 10.1:1 cr with my setup. I have 9:1 cr cps. I had my head milled some and im running a thinner hg. So if ur cr is really going to be 10.5:1 with those pistons u should be fine.

You could prolly hit that much power with that little turbo, but your going to be much happier with the GT28RS. It will spool about the same, and support another 100hp. Not to mention its bb and has the bling bling going for it.
