*READ* What kind of turbo kit do I need for a D16Y7? *READ*
The reason why I'm asking what turbo kit I need is because I'm planning on running a D16Y7 in a 1988 Honda Civic DX (originally DPFI/OBD0) and I'm going to try and use the D15B2 DPFI Intake Manifold with the D16Y7, but I will still be using the D16Y7 Exhaust Manifold. Since I will NOT be using the Y7 Intake Manifold, I am wondering if I will be able to buy the turbo kit made for the D16Y7, but use it with the B2 DPFI Intake Manifold.
(I'm being cheap and I'm buying the t3/t4 turbo kit from Ebay.)
Is there any precautions I need to take before I commit to this plan? I'm not even sure that this is possible, let alone even swapping in the D16Y7 into my car will work with the B2 parts.
Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm going to say yes on using a d16y7 turbo kit.. but no to ebay**But it should work.Turbo kit + tune = Good to go, most of the time
**Ebay likes to sell "turbo KITS" that isn't complete kits. and you get what you pay for.

I personally don't know what would be missing from the eBay kit but I'm going to take that risk I guess. $650 turbo kit sounds good to me haha.
There's another dilemma that I ran into; people are saying I should convert to OBD1 if I plan on turbocharging my Y7, but didn't give any explanation as to why it would be more suitable to do so.

no tune = BOOM
Plain and Simple
obd1 is better/cheaper(i believe) to tune and also not that hard or too expensive

I've always wondered what goes on in peoples head such as yourself.. The idiotic choices people make when 99% of suggestions say not to do so. Its such a good deal you'd be a fool not to buy the kit, right? Come on kid, save your allowance and build a decent turbo kit for a few hundred more..

No one gives a **** about your excuses. What's more, no one gives a **** about your ability to bump a 5 year old, dead thread. If the best you can afford is a shitty eBay "kit", then you can't afford to boost. Period.

You might get more response on homemadeturbo.com... I remember when they were using garden hose as oil return lines... Ugh.

No sense in dragging this old thread through the mud - eBay kits aren't worth discussing
