Default **TURBO LS: FUEL QUESTION??**

whats up everybody?

right now i have a 97 B18A in my 88 CRX si, with a 91 ls teg computer, I put a greddy TDO4H turbo kit off of a sohc vtec civic, that was bored out to fit the B18A motor, right now i have the VORTECH FMU, i have a after market in-line fuel pump, and a B&M FPR that im about to put on, right now my car isnt running well at all!! it pulls ok threw first and second then in third at about 4500 rpm's it will start to ping alot!! and continue this threw fourth and fifth!! my air/fuel gauge reads very lean, which is probably why my car is pinging, the wastgate diaphram is messed up on my turbo so right now it will only boost 5 psi, but when i fix this i want to boost 8-9 psi, i want to by larger injector, a APEX'i S-AFC, or something like that...... will the S-AFC and larger injectors help me out?? or maybe should i get some accord or prelude injectors and stayt away from the safc?? what would you guys suggest to do next?? what to make this beast run good!! i have some money saved but i really dont want to get hondata!! i want something i can tune my self!. but if i should stay away from that stuff completely??
thanks a lot for any help you can give me!!!

your pinging alot at only 5 psi??? are you sure that the inline or the FMU are working correctly?

you can use the S-AFC to tune larger injectors but a standalone like hondata 2b will be your best bet.

if you can get your hands on some DSM 450's with a S-AFC that could be your solution. just remember to swap out the disks in the fmu if you upgrade to larger injectors. i would not use the S-AFC as a bandaid to boost more, but more likely as a form of safety to avoid pinging. just my 2 cents

like stated before. check the vac lines, make sure your fuel pump and fmu are correctly installed, make sure the polarity is correct on the fuel pump. also check your ignition timing. You will most likley want to set it to factory specs. check your plugs--its a good indication if you are detonating, but obviously you must be if you said you're "pinging". hope this helps.

"...computer since it's for a 91LS not a 97b18a causing the car to run lean..."

This is not true. I run a 91 computer on my 95 LS. Sounds like a fuel problem.
Are you sure its pinging and not stuttering? And does your A/F swing full lean?

a 97 b18a? I would get my money back from whoever sold that to you if I were you.

are your FMU fuel lines backwards?
